Collection of Personal Information
Through the Site, users may enter personal information about themselves. This information includes, but is not limited to what you provide as part of the application process: your name, email address, phone number, city of residence, date of birth, employment status and history, educational experience, gender identity, race or ethnicity, yearly household income, your social media presence, employment, GitHub username, and personal and programming self-assessments. Under certain circumstances we may collect your Social Security Number where required for reporting or finance purposes. We may also collect personal information through our interactions with you through various social media channels, such LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
We also collect information through your interaction with the Site. This includes, but is not limited to, the type of device you are using, the model, the operating system and software, browser, information, unique device identifiers, and mobile provider. We also may collect information regarding the access of the Site, such as the dates and times of access, device IP addresses, and other sites that you have visited prior to the use of the Site. We may also collect information from your mobile device regarding your location.

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computer networks which may be located outside of the state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction in which you reside, and the country or jurisdiction in which these computer networks are located may not have privacy laws as protective as the laws in your country or jurisdiction. Your access to and use of the Site or your submission of any personal information to us will constitute your consent to the transfer of your personal information outside of your home country or jurisdiction.
California Privacy Rights
California law permits residents of California to request certain details about how their information is shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes. The Company does not share your personally identifiable information with third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes unless you provide us with consent to do so.
Use of Information
We may use your information:
- As part of the application process, where we evaluate and determine which learners will be accepted into the program. This process may include reference and background checks.
- To track how we are executing on our mission, including the use of the information for demographic purposes.
- To communicate with you regarding your participation in one of our programs, and, in general, relating to the Company and its offerings.
- To improve the Site, and to improve or develop new offerings.
- To serve advertisements or otherwise display content to you, whether on the Site, third party websites, or through social media channels.
How We Share Your Personal Information
We will not share your personal information with third parties except (a) if it is for the purpose(s) you provided it; (b) as may be required by law or as we think necessary to protect our company or others from injury (e.g. in response to a court order or subpoena, in response to a law enforcement agency request or when we believe that someone is causing (or about to cause) injury to or interference with the rights or property of another); and (c) with other persons, service providers, or companies with whom we contract to carry out internal operations or our business activities (for example, sending out a product or offering that you have requested on the Site). Additionally, with your consent, we may share your personal information with companies not affiliated with us (i.e. third party companies) who are interested in marketing their products or services to you or in asking you questions, both online and offline. If you consent to receiving communications from non-affiliated companies, you may need to communicate with them directly if you later decide that you no longer wish to receive their communications or if you wish to change any data you provided online. In this instance, any changes or amendments to your personal information must be given directly to each company who communicates with you as these changes, amendments and/or deletions will not be exchanged between us and non-affiliated companies. If we do share personal information with a non-affiliated company, to the extent practical, we require that they protect such information in a manner that is consistent with this policy. We cannot, however, guarantee how these non-affiliated companies will use your personal information.
In addition, in the event of a sale, merger, acquisition, sale of company assets bankruptcy, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, corporate transaction or financing due diligence, or transition of service to another provider, your information, including personal information, may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction as permitted by law and/or contract. We cannot control how such entities may use or disclose such information. Opting out of receiving information from third parties will not affect our right to transfer your information.
Site Not Intended for Children
The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 and therefore do not knowingly distribute such information to third parties. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of 13, we will delete such information from our records.
We try to safeguard personal information, including personal information. However, no one can guarantee the security of all information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of your information at any time.
