The purpose of this privacy policy (this “Policy”) is to inform users of this website as to what information we collect and how we use such information. IF YOU MAKE USE OF THE SITE, SUBMIT INFORMATION IN ANY WAY TO OR THROUGH THE SITE (INCLUDING THROUGH THE APPLICATION PROCESS) OR THOUGH AN OFFLINE PROCESS (SUCH AS IN PERSON OR OVER THE PHONE), REGISTER WITH THE SITE, REQUEST INFORMATION THAT WE MAY OFFER YOU, YOU AGREE TO THIS POLICY. Also, our information collection and use practices through online means may differ from our practices regarding information obtained offline.

Collection of Personal Information

Through the Site, users may enter personal information about themselves. This information includes, but is not limited to what you provide as part of the application process: your name, email address, phone number, city of residence, date of birth, employment status and history, educational experience, gender identity, race or ethnicity, yearly household income, your social media presence, employment, GitHub username, and personal and programming self-assessments. Under certain circumstances we may collect your Social Security Number where required for reporting or finance purposes. We may also collect personal information through our interactions with you through various social media channels, such LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.

We also collect information through your interaction with the Site. This includes, but is not limited to, the type of device you are using, the model, the operating system and software, browser, information, unique device identifiers, and mobile provider. We also may collect information regarding the access of the Site, such as the dates and times of access, device IP addresses, and other sites that you have visited prior to the use of the Site. We may also collect information from your mobile device regarding your location.

We use technologies like cookies, pixels, and local storage on the Site, in our emails, and other identifiers to personalize your online experience, to monitor use of the Site and improve its utility, and for our own internal purposes. California Privacy Rights

California law permits residents of California to request certain details about how their information is shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes. The Company does not share your personally identifiable information with third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes unless you provide us with consent to do so.

Use of Information

We may use your information:

  • As part of the application process, where we evaluate and determine which learners will be accepted into the program. This process may include reference and background checks.
  • To track how we are executing on our mission, including the use of the information for demographic purposes.
  • To communicate with you regarding your participation in one of our programs, and, in general, relating to the Company and its offerings.
  • To improve the Site, and to improve or develop new offerings.
  • To serve advertisements or otherwise display content to you, whether on the Site, third party websites, or through social media channels.

How We Share Your Personal Information

We will not share your personal information with third parties except (a) if it is for the purpose(s) you provided it; (b) as may be required by law or as we think necessary to protect our company or others from injury (e.g. in response to a court order or subpoena, in response to a law enforcement agency request or when we believe that someone is causing (or about to cause) injury to or interference with the rights or property of another); and (c) with other persons, service providers, or companies with whom we contract to carry out internal operations or our business activities (for example, sending out a product or offering that you have requested on the Site). We cannot control how such entities may use or disclose such information. Opting out of receiving information from third parties will not affect our right to transfer your information.

Site Not Intended for Children

The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 and therefore do not knowingly distribute such information to third parties. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of 13, we will delete such information from our records.

We reserve the right to amend this Policy from time to time, and encourage you to review it periodically. Use of information we collect now is subject to the privacy policy in effect at the time such information is used. If we make material changes in the way we use personal information, we will notify you in the manner we deem appropriate, including by sending you an email. You are bound by any changes to the privacy policy when you use the Site after such changes have been first posted.
